Lace® Wallet is a browser extension for people who want to hold their own keys. Install it in seconds, create a new wallet or restore an existing one, and keep your assets in a space only you control — no accounts, no custodian, no middleman. In your browser it becomes a clean dashboard for balances, tokens and activity, plus a simple approval screen whenever a decentralised app asks to interact. You review every request before it is signed, and nothing moves without your say-so. Straightforward, transparent and built for everyday use. Start small, learn the flow, then grow with confidence.

    Open lace.io and use the download link there. Never install a wallet extension from an ad, a search result, a DM or a link someone sent you.

    Pin it to your toolbar

    Create a brand-new wallet or restore one you already have. Then pin the icon so you can see at a glance when a site tries to reach it.

    Back up the phrase offline

    Write the recovery phrase on paper, store it somewhere safe, and never type it into a website, a chat window or a support form.

Security

The four habits that matter most

  • Your recovery phrase is yours alone. No legitimate wallet, support agent or giveaway will ever ask for it.
  • Read before you sign. If a request shows an asset or amount you did not expect, reject it.
  • Bookmark the real site. Use your own bookmark for the official download rather than clicking through to it.
  • Update from the store. Let your browser handle updates; do not sideload wallet files from anywhere else.

If something feels wrong

A surprise extension update, a pop-up asking for your phrase, or a site that will not close are all reasons to stop. Disconnect the site, review your connected apps and move your funds with a fresh wallet if you suspect the phrase was exposed.

Is the Lace® extension free?

Yes. The extension itself costs nothing to install or use, and there is no account or subscription. You only ever pay ordinary network fees when you send a transaction on a blockchain.

Which browsers support it?

It is built for Chromium-based browsers such as Chrome, Brave and Edge, and there is a Firefox build as well. Check the installation options on the official site for the current list.

Can I restore a wallet I already have?

Yes — restoring with a valid recovery phrase brings your accounts back. Do it on a device you trust, with the room to yourself, and re-hide the phrase the moment you are done.

Does it work on my phone?

An extension is a desktop-browser tool by nature — mobile browsers generally do not run extensions. Input Output also ships separate mobile apps for Android and iOS; those are the ones to look at if a phone is your main device.

Why does a site ask me to connect the wallet?

Decentralised applications need a connection before they can suggest a transaction. Connecting only shares your public addresses — it does not hand over funds. You still approve every action separately, and you can disconnect a site at any time.

What if I lose my recovery phrase?

There is no reset link and no support desk that can restore it — that is the point of self-custody. Without the phrase, a reinstalled or lost wallet cannot be recovered. Treat the written copy as the wallet itself.
